Chat Rooms Frequently Asked Questions


1- What browser can I use to access the chat room?


It’s always best to use the latest version of either Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.

 

2- What are my login options?


You can open an account with us and register your username and email, handy if you’re planning to use the chat rooms frequently in the future. Or you can just log-in as a guest and watch the chat.

 

3- Do I have to register to chat?


Yes, As mentioned above, you can just log-in as a guest and watch the chat but to be able to write in the chat you need to register.

 

4- How do I change my password?


Please go to My Profile, and click on change password.

 

5- My profile picture is no longer visible. What’s happened to it?


We remove profile pictures that are not permitted on our site. Using banned pictures risks your entire account being banned and possibly deleted. From time-to-time, we also delete all profile pictures and restore the default settings. This helps keep all the profile pictures fresh and ensures we don’t miss any profile pictures that aren’t appropriate for our site. When this happens, please just delete the default picture and replace it with your former profile picture, or a new one if you prefer.

 

6- I can’t remember my username. Is there any way I can recover it?


Sorry, we can’t recover any usernames. You’ll need to register a new account using a different email address.

 

7- I want to private chat with someone. How do I do that?


Just click on their screen name and then select the private chat option. This launches a new window in which you can chat one-to-one with no interruptions from other users. This new window can be moved around your screen to wherever suits you best.

 

8- I want to private video chat with someone. What do I do?


Sorry, this chat room doesn’t support private video chat.

 

9- How long do you keep private messages?


We keep messages for no longer to 3 days as we like to make sure our server doesn’t get too full. Please note that we don’t have access to any messages, so there’s no point asking us for them.

 

10- I’ve seen I can get a VIP account. What does that mean?


Our VIP account gives you access to extra features you can’t get with a normal account. We do charge extra for this, with the price depending on the chat room you choose. Our prices are listed within the chat. VIP accounts are totally optional and can be accessed via a link in the menu on the left-hand side of the page.

11- How do I ignore another chat room user?


Just click on their user profile and select the ignore button from the top menu.

12- I want to chat with someone who’s on my ignore list. How do I do that?


Go to your profile and click on the manage ignores button. Then delete the profile of the person you no longer want to ignore.

13- Why is another user not responding to my messages?


It may be the case that they have chosen to ignore you.

 

14- Can I turn off the sound?


Yes. Please go to My Profile, and click on Sound Settings.

 

15- I’ve been muted. What do I do?


Mutes can last for anything between 2 minutes and 30 days. Your account will automatically return to normal once the mute is over.

 

16- I’ve been kicked. What do I do?


If you get kicked, a timer will display how long you will remain kicked when you log into the chat room.

 

17- I’ve been banned and can’t connect to the chat room. What do I do?


The majority of bans are for people who’ve committed a serious offence while using our service. Therefore, bans are usually for a lifetime. If you have questions about your ban, please use our forums. If you think you’ve been banned by mistake, please directly contact the admin of the chat room you’ve been banned from.

 

18- I’m getting a message that says I’m using a Proxy or VPN service to access the free chat rooms. Can you explain this?


Yes, it means we’ve detected that the IP address you’re using to access our website is a VPN or Proxy service. These are not allowed. If you think you’re getting this message in error, please contact us. And remember to include your IP address in your message.

 

19- I’m not using a VPN or Proxy service, but I still can’t connect. Why is this?


It might be the case that you’re using an ISP we’ve blocked because it features too many users who are generating spam.

 

20- It’s been a while since I logged in, and I’m getting a message saying my account doesn’t exist. What do I do?


You will have to re-register with us. We automatically remove accounts that are inactive for 90 days or more. Please regularly visit chat rooms if you don’t want your account deleted. (note that VIP accounts will never be deleted)

 

21- How can I delete my account?


Please go to My Profile, and then click Delete Account.
